School is a little different here than in the States.  For starters, elementary students don’t go to class on Wednesdays; this allows me to make large sums of money to babysit on that particular day.  Today, I arrived at my babysitting location to discover that the middle child was at her grandparents’ because her teacher is ill and is not teaching this week.


Where are the substitute teachers?

On top of that, all French students are about to have the next two weeks off of school for vacation- Toussaint.  That’s dealing with All Saints Day, for all you Catholics out there.  While the general population has dismissed Catholicism along with most mysticism, they sure don’t mind using the religion for a reason to have a vacation.

It must be pretty sweet to be a teacher here…
